For the first time in Konkani language, and perhaps in any other Indian language too, an Autobiography has been published in a poetic form, by P.G.Kamath Foundation. It is written by Sri.K.Anantha Bhat, the poet who won Sahitya Akademi’s Translation Prize for his Konkani translation of Tulasidasa’s ‘Sri Ramacharita Manas’. The poetic autobiography is titled ‘ANANTU (अनन्तु )‘ and contains 700 stanzas in Devanagari script. Several photographs related to the particular incident or occasion also appear in the relevant page, making the book still unique and different from a usual autobiography.
The book was formally released at a function organized at Swarna Bhavan, Ernbakulam, on 07th October 2012. Prof.N.Ajithkumar released the first copy to Sri. Balakrishna Bhat, son of the author. The book has a Preface by Adv.Uday Bhembre, noted Konkani writer and President of Asmitai Pratishtan, Goa. It will be worthwhile to possess a copy of this pioneering work at your home library. The book is in Demi Octavo Size, and contains 80 pages, priced at Rs.70/- only.
