POVLLIM – पवळीं – poems

PGK was a poet par excellence. His poems are reflections of gems – of thoughts, of scruples, of comedy, of tragedy, of ups and downs.  He saw life with a clear approach bolstered by firm principles and commitments.  These poems lie scattered in different Konkani periodicals brought out from different places and periods. He was committed to writing Konkani in Devanagari script. Therefore  people outside his state could read his poems and take cognizance of him as a poet. No wonder Sahitya Akademi organized a program ‘Meet the Author’ in his honour at Panaji.

PGK wrote dozens of small poems which he dearly called ‘Povllim’ (पवळीं , Corals). Alongwith several such corals, he added many other gems and brought out a collection titled ‘POVLLIM‘ during August 2003.  The book has 34 poems, in 80 pages, published under ‘Pustak Prakashan’ which was a banner used by PGK. It is priced at Rs.70/- and the last few copies are available with us for sale.
